In the design of the bag type dust collector, the smallest air volume is only a few m3/h, and the largest air volume can reach millions m3/h. Therefore, determining the air flow rate is the most important factor in designing a dust collector. In general, the size of the dust collector is directly proportional to the air volume. To achieve the ideal dust removal effect when designing a bag type dust collector, must pay attention to these aspects: 1. The unit of air volume is expressed in m3/min, m3/h, but it must pay attention to the place where the dust collector is used and the temperature of the flue gas. The high-temperature gas contains a lot of moisture, so the air volume is not expressed in terms of dry air but in terms of humidity, and the moisture is expressed in volume fraction. 2. Because the performance of the bag filter depends on the actual filtering speed of the moist air, if the processing temperature of the bag filter has been determined and the cooling of the gas adopts the dilution method, then the air volume of the bag filter at this temperature must be added to the dilution air amount. When calculating the required filtration area, the filtration rate is the actual filtration rate. 3. In order to adapt to the change of dust source, the design of the dust collector needs to add some spare air volume above the normal air volume, so that the bag dust collector is designed according to the highest air volume. If the bag filter is operated under the condition of exceeding the prescribed processing air volume and filtration speed, the pressure loss will be greatly increased, the filter cloth may be clogged, the dust removal efficiency may also be reduced, and it may even become a cause of other sudden increase in the frequency of failure. However, if the spare air volume is too large, the investment cost and running cost of the bag filter will increase. 4. As the temperature of the dust source changes, the air volume of the bag filter will also change. However, the maximum amount of air volume should not be derived from the misoperation of the dust source and the occasional failure. 5. Once the air volume has been determined, the required filtration area can be determined based on the determined filtration rate. The filter speed differs greatly depending on the form of the bag filter, the type of filter cloth and the production process. The size of the filter can be consulted for relevant data or similar production processes and it can be estimated based on experience.
